Skydance and ColumbiaIt is a little ironic how Alien: Covenant moving from August to May ended up screwing over Life. So Life had to flee and ended up in a rather crowded weekend in a rather crowded month. The Sony release will have to hope for strong overseas figures as well this weekend. The $25 million release, funded by (among others) RatPac-Dune made just $7.6 million over its opening weekend. Writer/director/star Dax Shepard is not remotely a box office draw, CHiPs is worthless as an IP and the film looked absolutely abysmal.
