That's a record overseas debut, crushing the $316 million overseas debut of Jurassic World in June of 2015. With $532m worldwide, it has topped the $529m worldwide debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, making it the very biggest global opening weekend of all time. So yeah, Fast/Furious is bigger than Star Wars, if only for a weekend. That includes a record $195 million debut (for a Hollywood import) in China this weekend, smashing the $182m debut of Furious 7 two years ago. It scored the biggest debut weekend ever for Universal in 21 territories, specifically the above 17 territories along with Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil and Mexico.
