Speaking of which, Focus Features and Sierra/Affinity’s Atomic Blonde opened with a pretty good $7.1 million on Friday, including $1.52m in Thursday previews. Atomic Blonde only cost $30m. So as much as I wanted to see the David Leitch-directed actioner make back its budget over the opening weekend, that's not necessarily the bar for success. I wanted to write about another Lucy-ish blow-out this weekend, but that’s on me, not Atomic Blonde. If the opening weekend plays out like John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2 or Lucy (2.5-2.7x), we’re looking at an over/under $19m debut.
