The 46.1% drop is the third-smaller third-weekend drop for a $200 million+ opener, behind only the 40% third-weekend drop for Black Panther and the 46% drop for The Avengers. Infinity War held about as well in its third weekend as Age of Ultron (against Pitch Perfect 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road) despite having no comparative competition. This nitpicking aside, Avengers: Infinity War is still on a path to presumably pass Jurassic World ($652 million) to become, in unadjusted domestic grosses, the biggest summer movie release ever.
