So, with one month to go, how much does Avengers: Infinity War have to make in order to be considered a straight-up success? We don't know to what extent the blowout success of Black Panther will give Infinity War a boost. To use X-Files terminology, Black Panther was a "monster of the week" episode while Infinity War is a "mythology episode." Maybe to general audiences, an Avengers movie is an Avengers movie come hell or high water. If Avengers: Infinity War gets that audience (along with a Black Panther bump), then the sky is the limit.
