PETALING JAYA: Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman has secured the national bowling team a second silver medal of their World Championships in Las Vegas. Siti Safiyah amassed 5,048 pinfalls following the completion of four events - singles, doubles, trios and team - to finish 78 pins behind winner Danielle McEwan of the US, who claimed the gold with 5,126. Malaysia are also assured of a medal in the women's team event after Siti Safiyah, Shalin, Li Jane, Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi, Natasha Roslan and Esther Cheah secured a place in Sunday's title playoff. The winners will proceed into the gold medal match while the losers will settle for bronze. Malaysia have won the women's team gold on two occasions - in Kuala Lumpur in 2003 and Monterrey, Mexico in 2007.
