Both Houses Of The Liberian Legislature Elect Leadership -


Members of the 54th National legislature yesterday, January 15, 2018 elected their respective leadership to steer the affairs of both Houses with Grand Kru County Senator, Albert Chie as Senate Pro-Temporal and Representative Bhofal Chambers of Mary County as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Also elected was Bong County Representative, Prince Moye as Deputy Spaeker. Rep. Moye served as Chairman of the House Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Development Planning in the 53rd Legislature. Others elected to the leadership of the House of Representatives include, Mildred Sayon, Chief clerk, Deputy Chief Clerk Sayurh Geplay and General Martin Johnson as Sergeant-at-Arms. Article 49 states: “The House of Representatives shall elect once every six years a Speaker who shall be the presiding Officer of that body, a Deputy Speaker, and such other officers as shall ensure the proper functioning of the House.”Chambers takes over from Atty.
