Borno State has been placed under a 24-hour curfew following a deadly bomb blast that killed 16 people and injured several others in Kawuri village, Konduga Local Government Area. Police Public Relations Officer Kenneth Daso announced the curfew on behalf of the state government on Thursday, saying it was aimed at restoring law and order. The decision was taken after consultations with Governor Babagana Umar Zulum and security chiefs, according to the police. The blast, caused by an improvised explosive device, has raised fresh concerns about security in the troubled state.
