Today both Mr Hunt and his Brexiteer rival Dominic Raab attacked Mr Johnson as the Tory leadership race officially launched. While Mr Hunt lashed out at his Brexit approach, Mr Raab savaged Mr Johnson's bid to slash income tax for people earning over £50,000 a year. Without naming Mr Johnson - the frontrunner for the Downing Street race - Mr Hunt said: “We need to get real – we are facing a constitutional crisis. Mr Raab warned that Mr Johnson's plan to raise the 40p tax threshold from £50,000 to £80,000 would backfire by painting the Tories as the party of wealth and privilege.
