There was fresh hope as drugs giant AstraZenenca revealed it has teamed up with Oxford University scientists to make and distribute the first coronavirus vaccine. Mr Johnson claimed the UK will “bounce back strongly” after the crisis but warned a second wave could cause lasting economic damage. Ministers will set out plans for an eventual “workplace-by- workplace” end to lockdown. The Government is also set to advise the public to wear face coverings – but not masks – while out shopping and in some workplaces. The PM added: “I do think that broadly speaking, we did the right thing at the right time.”
