As reports of the move first emerged, Mr Johnson tweeted that it would be “very damaging” and would “strike at the heart” of the domestic game. Sources have suggested that Mr Johnson may not have fully understood what he was supporting when the issue was allegedly first raised with him. Wednesday, April 28: Mr Johnson was asked when he and Mr Rosenfield first heard about the plan. He replied: “I first was made aware of the plan for a super league on, I think, the Sunday night.”
