But a government source defended Mr Hancock and Mr Shapps, saying 'enhanced border measures' were vital and that it was only wise to be cautious about booking holidays. Mr Hancock, meanwhile, expressed the hope that coronavirus will become 'another illness that we have to live with' like flu. 'I hope that Covid-19 will become a treatable disease by the end of the year,' Mr Hancock told The Daily Telegraph.
