The gift was a symbolic praise for Kenya's successful hosting of the 2021 World Rally Championship series. The actual car was driven by Wisdom-Riley Ann together with her co-driver Moss-Carlsson Pat from Great Britain and finished third in the rally that was dominated by Kenyans. Uhuru successfully resuscitated the FIA WRC Safari Rally in the country after a 19-year hiatus. Motorsports enthusiasts jammed the town and mingled freely irrespective of their ethnicity and political ideologies. Kenya will host the WRC Safari Rally every year until 2026.
