In one of his weekly articles for the Daily Telegraph, Mr Johnson had written that a no-deal Brexit was more popular "by some margin" than either Theresa May's deal or cancelling Brexit. Mr Johnson is paid £275,000 a year to write the weekly column. While the column was referenced on the front page, the inaccuracy itself appeared on Page 18.
