After days of speculation the Tory leadership contender will not meet the President tonight - despite a direct offer from Trump himself. Boris Johnson turned down the meeting because it would have clashed with a hustings for the Tory leadership contest tonight, being hosted by the One Nation Tory group. A source close to Boris Johnson said: "Trump called Boris and offered a one-to-one meeting. A source close to Michael Gove confirmed to the Mirror that Donald Trump's team asked the Tory leadership frontrunner for a meeting last night. President Trump was expected to host a lavish dinner tonight with the guest list kept under wraps.
