Chief minister Nitish Kumar dubbed the Union budget, announced on Wednesday, as "disappointing and boring". The Union budget came in under strong criticism from Nitish as well as RJD chief Lalu Prasad. Nitish, who had supported demonetisation, aired his frustration over the budget being silent on the benefits of the notebandi. On railways, Nitish said: "Railways ka satyanash kar diya (Railways has been destroyed). Lalu asked after watching the budget speech at his 10 Circular Road residence.
