According to Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is focusing on administering a third dose or a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines in Sri Lanka. He made these statements while participating in the TV Derana breakfast show ‘Derana Aruna’ this morning (08). Pointing out that booster shots are being rolled out in other countries, he stated that the President clearly instructed that Sri Lanka too will have to do the same. Accordingly, the President has instructed to make an immediate request to obtain required quantities. The NOCPCO Head said that 93 percent of the people in the country have been given the first dose while 23 percent have been given the second dose.
