The launch of Etihad Airways’ agent Travel Shoppe offices in Machakos will boost travel business as the county opens up more investment opportunities. “What we have done is we have brought a hotel to a flight and that is why we refer to it as a residence,” Omusamiah said. Etihad Airways’ account manager Moses Omusamiah said the airline recently introduced its first Airbus A380 which has a “residence”. Machakos office manager Irene Kanini said the branch will offer local and international booking services, travel insurance as well tour packages for destination weddings. The agent said the office will serve mostly businessmen who travel frequently to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Bombay, New York among other areas where the airline operates.
