Perhaps Phil’s diversity through the decades is why his music is as relevant as ever. Even when Bono and U2 were wooing the crowds in Las Vegas this autumn they launched into one of Phil’s relatively recent compositions, Ireland’s Call, to rapturous applause. Their film clip of that got a sensational reaction on TV in the States and it will now be part of an elaborate backdrop for his Galway concert.
