(Feb 11): Bombardier Inc won a 40-plane order for its Challenger 3500 aircraft from Vista Global Holding Ltd, one of the world’s biggest operators of business jets, amid growing global demand for private aviation. Vista’s purchase agreement with the Canadian aircraft manufacturer is worth about US$1.2 billion (RM4.71) at list price, although buyers tend to get large discounts for bulk purchases. Bombardier will deliver the planes over a decade, Vista said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 11). Vista’s aircraft order comes as Bryan Bedford, the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration, said Tuesday that he expects Canada’s aviation regulator to approve Gulfstream jets soon. Last year, Bombardier landed a large order from Bond Aviation Holdings LLC, a private jet company backed by KKR & Co that agreed to buy 50 aircraft in a deal worth US$1.7 billion.
