MIRI: Firefighters are tackling forest fires currently raging at the Sarawak-Brunei border, says Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong. "Firemen from Brunei are doing aerial water bombing from their side while we from Miri are fighting the fires from our border. "Hazy conditions have also been reported at the border area," he said in the latest updates on Tuesday (April 23). The Sarawak-Brunei border is 35km north of Miri, which has a population of 350,000 people. That API was the highest since forest fires started on March 1.
