Emergency services, including bomb experts from the Royal Logistics Corp, and firefighters, were called to the home in North Shields at around 1.30pm. The 41-year-old man, believed to have been known to the woman, was arrested on suspicion of murder. The street remained cordoned off for several hours on Christmas Day and police remain at the scene today, Chronicle Live reports. Northumbria Police said a woman’s body was during their search of the home.
