Bolton Metro coach Howard picks up national gold award


Howard received the gold award at a ceremony held at the University of Birmingham’s Great Hall recently, recognising his outstanding contribution to swimming over the past year. The award caps a remarkable season for Howard, whose swimmers Georgia Sheffield and Mark Tompsett both represented Great Britain at the World Para Swimming Championships, in Singapore. Howard was also selected to join the Aquatics GB Para coaching squad for the World Para Championships in Singapore, and was named Coach of the Day at the Summer Nations event at Ponds Forge earlier in the season. Speaking after receiving the award, Howard said: “I’m truly overwhelmed and deeply humbled to receive this award. “That we are producing world-class talent, ready to take on the very best, and that Bolton can rise to the top.”n Bolton Metro Swim Squad welcomes swimmers of all abilities looking to develop their potential.
