In my pick from Mukesh songs for Roshan – “Tum Kisi Aur Ko Chaahogi” – Mukesh exhibited a flair and an impish charm that he didn’t get a chance to emote in songs very often. In this post, I talk about Mukesh’s singing career through 10 of his songs for 10 different music directors. Burman – O Janewale Ho Sake To Laut Ke Aana (Bandini, 1963)One of my most favorite Mukesh songs is “O Janewale Ho Sake To Laut Ke Aana”. It is therefore a little surprising that the King of Ghazals, Madan Mohan, recorded less that ten songs in Mukesh’s voice. Like Kalyanji – Anandji, Salil da also did not care much about the audiences’ notions of the kind of songs that Mukesh’s voice suited.
