Bollywood director Ali Abbas Zafar has received criticism from fellow director Vivek Agnihotri over the free release of his upcoming film, Bloody Daddy, on an Over-The-Top (OTT) platform. Vivek shared a newspaper ad for the film on Twitter and criticized its free release stating: “Why would anyone show a 200 cr film for free? The user said this driven other OTT platforms to charge less to customers and generate revenue through ads. Ali Abbas Zafar explained his decision to release the film for free on an OTT platform, stating that the story was designed to be taken further than the film. He said it wasn’t compromised budget-wise to make it appear like an OTT movie and that its stakeholders had decided that releasing it on an OTT platform was the best way.
