Around 2:30am Tuesday, a passenger bus, bound for Rangpur from Gazipur’s Konabari, lost control near Sholomail-Tobaria in Sirajganj’s Raiganj upazila. The bus skidded off and fell into a ditch, injuring at least 20 and killing four people. The deceased were identified as: Hamidul Islam, 34, Shahjahan Ali, 35, Fazlul Haque, 35, and Ataur Rahman, 32. Earlier on Sunday afternoon, a bus collided with a human hauler, colloquially called a leguna, on the Bogra-Nagarbari Highway near Boalia Bazar in Sirajganj. In the attempt, the bus swerved and collided with the leguna, killing nine aboard, and injuring two more.
