Boeser steals NHL all-star show and more

TAMPA, FLA.—Vancouver Canucks rookie Brock Boeser took home some lucrative prizes after he was named the most valuable player of the NHL all-star game, leading the Pacific Division with a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Atlantic Division in the three-on-three championship. Boeser won $100,000 U.S. for being on the winning team and a car for MVP honours, after collecting $25,000 on Saturday for winning the shooting contest. “But I think once you get here and meet the guys and have some laughs it’s easier to enjoy the experience. Some players were asked if they’d like the NHL to do something to celebrate individuality. In hockey, to be individualistic is important, but winning is based on the whole team.” Connor McDavid agreed.
