Boeing & Airbus: Stop Squabbling, Take On China's Comac


Friday, the World Trade Organization handed down decisions on 29 subsidy cases involving Airbus Group and the Boeing Company. Washington and Brussels have been filing subsidy cases against each other since 2004. Then, the U.S. escalated the transatlantic brawl by going to the global trade body after charging the Europeans with violating a 1992 agreement. The world’s most consequential airliner subsidy case, unfortunately, has not been filed yet. The tax reduction in question was worth $801 million to Boeing from 2004 to 2016.
