Boeing 737 MAX makes emergency landing in US but airline says computer system not to blameUpdatedA Boeing 737 MAX 8 heading to the California desert for parking during a global ban on the aircraft has made an emergency landing due to an engine-related problem shortly after take-off. The US Federal Aviation Administration grounded the 737 MAX following the crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia but has allowed airlines to conduct flights without passengers to move planes to other airports. Following the two fatal crashes, Boeing announced it was pausing deliveries of the 737 MAX to customers, despite maintaining the aircraft was safe. Boeing will continue its production rate of 52 aircraft per month, but its MAX fleet will not be sent to airlines or leasing companies. In January, Boeing said it expected to report revenue between $US109.5 billion and $US111.5 billion in 2019.
