1 of 1 2 of 1There's been a sad end to a 28-hour search of the site of a structural roof collapse in East Vancouver. After 5 p.m. on Friday (July 15), Vancouver Fire Rescue Services and Canada Task Force 1 members recovered the body of a male employee of the office building beneath a rooftop parking lot. The building is at 3434 Lougheed Highway between Rupert Street and Boundary Road. When the rooftop parkade began to rupture and pebbles fell into the office below, many workers immediately left. Officials attributed the collapse to a heavy loader that was doing work on the roof.
