KOTA KINABALU: A 49-year-old local man who left his house for a drive during the early hours of Sunday (June 9) was found dead in a drain about 36 hours later in Tawau. The man was identified as Jaafar Jalman, a local hawker from Kg Titingan, and he was found with stab wounds to his neck and chest at the Fajar township at about 5pm on Monday (June 10). ACP Umbuas said that the police believe that Jaafar was killed after he accused the teenagers of being snatch thieves. He said that initial investigations showed that the victim had left his house in Kg Titingan, telling his wife that he was going for a drive at around 12.30am Sunday. On Monday, a passer-by called the police to inform about a body found in a drain behind a store.
