Forty-five-year old Badal Khan’s body, with his throat slit, was found inside a tea stall that he owned in Boalkhali Union on Monday, said Dighinala police OC Md Mizanur Rahman. Badal, a member of the BNP's Dighinala unit, was nominated by the party as a candidate for the recently held Boalkhali Union Parishad elections.Customers found his body and his wife Kulsum Bibi lying unconscious inside the tea stall beside their home in the morning, said the OC.Kulsum was sent to Khagrhachharhi Sadar Hospital. She would be questioned after she regained consciousness, he told bdnews24.com.“We think someone had drugged them first and then killed Badal,” OC Mizanur said. "There were sharp weapon wounds on Badal face. "The BNP's Khagrhachharhi unit President Wadud Bhuiyan condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.
