Police recovered the body early Monday in front of the privately-owned Kohinoor Nursing Home in Mathurapur, said Daulatpur Police Station OC Barakat. The dead, 24-year-old Bulbul Hossain, hailed from the Upazila’s Pragpur Union. Locals say Bulbul was shot near the Jamalpur border area. Bulbul and six or seven others were smuggling a drug shipment from India when they were shot by a BSF team on patrol, locals said. Bulbul was shot in the waist and was helped into Bangladesh by his accomplices, they added.
