The body of a woman has been recovered from Wellington's waterfront this morning. Police were called to Queens Wharf about 6.30am after the body was discovered floating in the water. Detective Senior Sergeant Kevan Verry said a middle-aged woman had died and the operation to recover her body had now finished. The death was being treated as unexplained but at this stage there appear to be no suspicious circumstances. Police were also working to identify and notify the woman's next of kin.
