The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in after a body was discovered in Coquitlam early Friday morning. IHIT is taking conduct of a new homicide investigation in Coquitlam. — @HomicideTeamCoquitlam RCMP said they were responding to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 4000 block of Quarry Road around 6:30 a.m. PT when they found a body nearby. An initial investigation determined the death was suspicious and IHIT was called, police said. The area has been cordoned off and police say it will remain off-limits to the public for "a significant amount of time," while IHIT conducts its investigation.
