During an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani on Sunday March 15, 2026, during the inauguration of a rehabilitated mosque at the Sunyani Night Market, Imam Haidara said such practices were inconsistent with Islamic teachings and risked exposing the religion to public ridicule. He argued that pre-marital sexual activities and certain body adornments represented foreign influences that undermined the moral values upheld by Islam.
