GEORGE TOWN: The comment by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng that the flash floods were due to weather conditions has not gone down well with a Penang MCA leader. Penang was hit by heavy rainfall on Friday, bringing many areas to a standstill in the worst flash floods the state has seen in recent years. Lee said it was irresponsible of Lim to blame the weather for floods. “The state government had boasted that it would be able to resolve the problem of floods in one term. Lee said Lim’s refusal to acknowledge his administrative weaknesses would not help alleviate the people’s burden or to resolve the flood crisis.
