The coin which will weigh at least 31.104g and have a diameter of 37mm will be outdoored on the Asantehene’s 70th birthday on May 6, 2020. The commemorative coin will be exclusively auctioned to the public and proceeds used to fund the establishment of the Cultural Resource Centre. Born as Nana Barima Kwaku Duah, Osei II is the 17th Asantehene of the Asante Kingdom. Otumfuo is in direct succession to the 17th-century co-founder of the Ashanti Empire, Otumfuo Osei Tutu I.
