The Toronto Blue Jays announced Tuesday that starter Aaron Sanchez had undergone a “procedure” to remove part of a fingernail this week, a few days after he was placed on the disabled list to deal with a recurring blister issue. Meanwhile, the team says fellow starter J.A. Happ is expected back from the DL shortly after that. Sanchez, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday, had a procedure to remove a portion of a fingernail on Monday; it was performed by a dermatologist in Kansas City. Happ was placed on the DL on Monday after leaving Sunday’s 11-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles with soreness in his left elbow.
