Blue Jays outfielder Dalton Pompey diagnosed with concussion

DUNEDIN, Fla. — Injury prone outfielder Dalton Pompey suffered another setback on Friday, diagnosed with a concussion after he hit his head on bats in his clubhouse locker. Pompey was a late scratch from Toronto’s lineup ahead of the Jays’ 13-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday after injurying himself at Dunedin Stadium. Dalton Pompey is looking to break camp with the Blue Jays as a fifth outfielder. Pompey starting the season on the injured list could delay the Jays’ decision on his future. The club might go with an eight-man bullpen to compensate, instead of a fifth outfielder.
