Jordan Romano is going to end up receiving more save opportunities than anyone else, but he won’t be used in a traditional closer’s role. Romano started warming up in the seventh because there was a chance the Jays were going to ask him to get four outs. Bichette screams future star to me, and I still think there’s a chance he improves enough with the glove that it eases concerns for another couple years. There are no remaining ties between the current Blue Jays roster and the one that took the field in 2015. There’s no longer a rivalry between the Jays and Rangers, just like there’s no longer a rivalry between the Jays and Orioles.
