The Blue Jays put reliever J.P. Howell on the 10-day disabled list for the second time this season with left shoulder tightness and called up left-hander Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Buffalo in time for Monday night’s game in Oakland. The 34-year-old Howell, who signed a free-agent deal in February, missed two weeks in mid-April with a similar injury. He’s 1-1 with an 8.31 ERA in 13 appearances (8 2/3 innings) this season. He has a 3.83 career ERA over 12 big-league seasons. Beliveau is 3-1 with a 3.09 ERA in 32 innings with the Bisons this season.
