Which brings us to Tuesday’s wild-card game and the controversial decision to start Marcus Stroman instead of left-hander Francisco Liriano. Liriano is now a member of the bullpen and will remain there, barring injury, for as long as the Jays advance in the playoffs. In fact, the Jays’ five key offensive hitters totalled 11 fewer homers and 24 fewer RBIs in September this year.
