The Toronto win spoiled a stellar outing from reigning American League Cy Young winner Blake Snell, who pitched six innings of one-hit ball with nine strikeouts and a walk. But with Snell out of the game in the seventh inning, the Blue Jays pounced on reliever Chaz Roe. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove in a pair of late runs and the Blue Jays bounced back from a rough start to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 on Saturday. Austin Meadows drove in a sixth-inning run for the AL East-leading Rays, the only blemish on a stellar start from Clay Buchholz in his Blue Jays debut. The 34-year-old right-hander went six solid innings in the no-decision, allowing one run and six hits with two strikeouts in his first major-league start since last September.
