The Blue Jays’ 19-27 record may not be the stuff of must-watch baseball, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. certainly is. He will return to the Rogers Centre on Monday in the midst of his first big-league hot streak, including a game-winning two-run homer against the White Sox at Chicago’s Guaranteed Rate Field on Sunday. The 101.5-mile-per-hour drive off White Sox reliever Kelvin Herrera cashed in Jonathan Davis, who opened the eighth inning with a single — his first hit of the season after an 0-for-16 start. Streak out: Blue Jay Freddy Galvis went 0-for-3 with a walk, ending his hitting streak at nine games. Out of the shadows: Heading into Sunday, White Sox slugger Jose Abreu was 3-for-23 with one RBI against the Jays this season, but he did some damage in the finale.
