Anthony Alford returned to action on Wednesday night with the Dunedin Blue Jays, about seven weeks after the young outfielder broke a bone in his wrist during a game with the big-league club. 38 on Baseball America’s mid-season top 100 prospects list, suffered the injury in the ninth inning of Toronto’s 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on May 23. At the time, he said he heard and felt a pop in his wrist after hitting a foul ball. Alford served as Dunedin’s designated hitter on Wednesday, batting leadoff. Fellow prospects Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. were batting second and fourth, respectively, after being promoted to the Florida State League from the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts.
