MANILA, Philippines — Cignal-Ateneo tries to move on cusp of copping the 2019 PBA D-League title with a potential 2-0 lead today when it faces the handicapped Centro Escolar University in Game 2 of their best-of-five finals at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. with the Blue Eagles banking on their easy win in Game 1 to finally take the fight out of the resilient eight-man Scorpions who are expected to come out swinging to level this race-to-three series. Equipped with a full-strength roster compared to the severely crippled CEU crew, the Blue Eagles hardly broke a sweat in a massive 101-66 victory which was the biggest scoring margin in the PBA D-League finals history. As easy as that win was for the Katipunan-based dribblers, assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga warned the Blue Eagles of complacency, anticipating a full-swing fightback from the Scorpions. “They’re in the finals for a reason,” he said.
