Blow to Raila as Chiloba insists he won’t won’t quit


The IEBC CEO says the body was a victim of its successThe Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission CEO, Ezra Chiloba, has said he will not resign as demanded by the Opposition. Chiloba is the head of he secretariat at the poll body and has been under pressure to quit office before the October 17 presidential polls but says it will be catastrophic for officials of IEBC to be removed due to the difficulty of the task ahead. Led by its presidential candidate Raila Odinga, the National Super Alliance has demanded for his removal and his senior colleagues at the commission otherwise the forthcoming elections will not happen. Nasa has put the blame for the overturning of the August 8 election by the Supreme Court, squarely on Chiloba and a handful others. Chiloba observed that the August election was the best managed in Africa and that him and his colleagues were victims of their successes.
