Thousands of residents in the City of Johannesburg, and at least three public hospitals, have experienced water outages or low water pressure from Monday, placing public health at risk. The city’s water utility, Rand Water, said it was forced to implement stage 2 water restrictions, or colloquially known as water shedding, due to reservoirs running low on water. News24 earlier reported that the water crisis was due to a combination of load shedding, poor infrastructure and poor planning.
