It’s already too easy to divert the attention of drivers, without distracting them with messages that no longer apply. The distraction of phones is the deadliest threat to the motoring public since the first guy who got drunk and went for a drive in a Model T and has now passed impaired driving as a cause of collisions. And when driving in the big city, there are so many things along the periphery of the road — traffic signs, billboards, stores and businesses — clamouring for the attention of motorists that it’s amazing there aren’t more accidents.
